Medical researchers at the University of Southern California have taken a big step closer to proving that diabetes is potentially curable.

Their study, currently in its developmental stage, involves a simple dieting technique in which you put your body to each end of the hunger spectrum – simulating a ‘feast and fast’ diet may promote the regeneration of beta pancreatic cells, the cells responsible for the production of insulin.

This could have huge potential benefits for both type 1 and type 2 diabetics, if successful in human trials.
